You haven’t had a good beer until you’ve tried a locally brewed, fresh beer. Visit the Folklore Brewery & Meadery for craft beer tastings and tours of our brewery. Tastings and tours are held on Friday and Saturday from 3:00pm to 11:00pm.

The Brewery
Folklore Brewery is built on the outskirts of Dothan on an old family farm. The family business owners are in the process of getting Federal License requirements to produce a honey wine, as well.

Fun Zone Family Entertainment Center
Dothan offers a family entertainment zone with plenty of activities to keep everybody happy for hours. After School Care
School aged children from ages 5 to 13 can play after school every day at The Fun Zone until 6pm. Buses will bring children from area schools directly to the Fun Zone. The Wiregrass Museum offers a free, fun family day the first Saturday of each month. November’s day will be the 7th at 10:30am. The event runs until 2:30pm. There is no cost for the family fun and all supplies will be provided by the museum. The museum features a different project each month to keep the experience fresh for participants. It’s a great way to spend quality time with your family members. No preregistration is required to participate.
The Wiregrass Museum was founded in 1988. It was designed to improve the quality of life in the Wiregrass area through its collection of art work, exhibits, and educational programs for visitors of all ages. The museum is supported by private donors and is also funded by the City of Dothan. In addition to Family Day on the first Saturday of each month, the museum hosts a variety of events throughout the year including yoga, artist workshops, and special exhibitions.
The museum is located at 126 Museum Avenue in historic downtown Dothan, near the Dothan Civic Center. It is opened Wednesday through Friday from 10am to 5pm and Saturdays from 10am to 3pm. Monday and Tuesday hours are by appointment only. Admission to the museum is free.
The next big event for the museum will be the celebration of Youth Art Month to be held March 2016. The museum will bring public awareness of the value in art education for all children. The museum has been partnering with local schools to showcase the talent in the K-12 students in the area.

Get into the spirit of fall at Landmark Park on Saturday, October 17, 2015. The event will start at 10:00am and feature a presentation on the harvesting of peanuts as it was done 100 years ago. Visitors get to experience the different sights and smells of traditional farm activities. Indulge in the sweetness of syrup making, sugar cane grinding, and butter churning. During the event, visitors can also participate in fun activities like storytelling and music.
As part of the annual Fall Farm Day, take some time to explore the displays featured at the 2015 Quilt Show at the Stokes Activity Barn from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. The quilt show will feature over one hundred quilts throughout the barn including antique quilts. The quilts are judged and visitors can check out the many exhibits, door prizes, and listen to featured speakers.
Landmark Park is located at 430 Landmark Drive in Dothan. It features 135 acres of preservation for the natural and cultural heritage of the Wiregrass Region in southeast Alabama. Visitors can get a real experience living life on a farm in the 1890’s. The park features a farmhouse, smokehouse, cane mill, and a variety of farm animals like chickens, goats, pigs, and mules.
The park also offers a picnic area, wildlife exhibits, nature trails, and a planetarium. A small admission fee is charged to enter the park. Throughout the year, special events are held including folk festivals, traveling exhibits, concerts, and antique car shows.

On October 3, 2015, the City of Dothan Department of Leisure Services will sponsor the 18th Annual Youth Fishing Day. The event will be held from 9am to 11:00am at the Eastgate Park in cooperation with the Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries.
This is a free event for boys and girls aged 5-12 years. Participants will have the chance to learn more about the sport of fishing by engaging in hands-on experiences. Children must be accompanied by an adult to participate in the day’s activities. Only the children will be permitted to fish during the event. Adults may offer help with fishing activities. The pond at Eastgate Park will be stocked with catfish. All participants are responsible for bringing their own fishing tackle including fishing rod or pole, bait, and stringer.
Eastgate Park is located at 2049 Sanitary Dairy Road in Dothan. The event will also feature door prize drawings through the morning. Ribbons will also be awarded to the youth fishermen. Other sponsors of the event include Food Depot, Piggly Wiggly, Coca-Cola, Screentech, and Dothan Lanes.
Eastgate Park offers 200 acres featuring walking trails, a boardwalk, sand courts for volleyball, picnic areas, and tennis courts. The park is also available for special events including church functions, family reunions, company events, and birthday and graduation parties. A house and two picnic pavilions are available for rent. The park also includes five youth baseball fields and two ponds suitable for public fishing.
Wiregrass Museum of Art in Dothan
The Wiregrass Museum was founded in 1988 with the purpose of improving the quality of life in Dothan. The museum receives donations from both private donors and the City of Dothan to operate, and provides educational programs for all ages.
Summer Camps at the Wiregrass Museum
Every summer, the Wiregrass Museum is home to a variety of art-based summer camps. Create art books, experience a visual arts camp, or play with clay. Each summer, your child can enjoy new art experiences.

Museum Memberships
You can become a member of the museum to support the community outreach, workshops, and operating costs of the venue. Memberships include individual memberships and family memberships. You can book birthday parties and other events at the museum if you are a member.
