Petting zooGet into the spirit of fall at Landmark Park on Saturday, October 17, 2015. The event will start at 10:00am and feature a presentation on the harvesting of peanuts as it was done 100 years ago. Visitors get to experience the different sights and smells of traditional farm activities. Indulge in the sweetness of syrup making, sugar cane grinding, and butter churning. During the event, visitors can also participate in fun activities like storytelling and music.

As part of the annual Fall Farm Day, take some time to explore the displays featured at the 2015 Quilt Show at the Stokes Activity Barn from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. The quilt show will feature over one hundred quilts throughout the barn including antique quilts. The quilts are judged and visitors can check out the many exhibits, door prizes, and listen to featured speakers.

Landmark Park is located at 430 Landmark Drive in Dothan. It features 135 acres of preservation for the natural and cultural heritage of the Wiregrass Region in southeast Alabama. Visitors can get a real experience living life on a farm in the 1890’s. The park features a farmhouse, smokehouse, cane mill, and a variety of farm animals like chickens, goats, pigs, and mules.

The park also offers a picnic area, wildlife exhibits, nature trails, and a planetarium. A small admission fee is charged to enter the park. Throughout the year, special events are held including folk festivals, traveling exhibits, concerts, and antique car shows.
