With a local brewery right in town, along with some bars featuring extensive tap lists, beer lovers in the Dothan, Alabama, area have some great options when it comes to enjoying a craft brew. Check out these two spots in Dothan where you can grab a foamy, delicious craft beer.

  1. Folklore Brewing & Meadery

Visit Folklore Brewing & Meadery to enjoy a true craft beer where it’s made. The brewery is open Monday through Wednesday — serving pints, bottles, and growlers from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. — and you can bring your own food to enjoy with your beer. Stop by Thursday through Saturday, if you’re looking for a delicious meal to be served alongside your beer. The kitchen is open Thursdays from 4-9 p.m., Fridays from 4 p.m. until midnight, and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to midnight.

Try the Shadowcaster Porter for a darker full-bodied beer or the Wiregrass Wheat for a lighter wheat ale. If you like something a little citrusy in flavor, try the Grateful Red amber ale.

  1. McLeod’s Publick House

McLeod’s Publick House is a welcoming pub featuring an ongoing list of 56 taps. With the pub’s Build Your Own Flight option, you can choose four 4-ounce samples to find a favorite. Open throughout the week (except Sundays), it’s easy to stop by for a pint. On Fridays and Saturdays, McLeod’s stays open until 2 a.m., so you can enjoy a great night out. Every third Saturday of each month, sport your clan’s tartan or break out the kilt for Tartan Night.

Whether you’re visiting the Dothan area or a long-time resident, be sure to find time to enjoy a craft brew at one of these locations. You may even find a new favorite.
