The Toyota Supra is a familiar name among fans of the popular automotive brand. However, the Supra of the past is getting a refresh and a brand-new name. Check out the latest features and updates planned for this stylish sports car.

A Rich Heritage

The Supra is one of the most beloved cars in Toyota’s history, boasting plenty of impressive features and stellar performance. Beneath the hood of the past model was a twin turbocharged V6 and rear-wheel drive. The latest model is loosely based on the FT-1 concept, which debuted in 2014.

All Sporty Features

According to Shigeki Tomoyama, president of Toyota’s Gazoo Racing division, “The Supra will be a pure sports car.” Although the full details are not available yet, it will come outfitted with an even more powerful engine and rear-wheel drive with a more mobile rear axle for better handling. Toyota is reportedly developing aftermarket features for improved style and functionality. This model will have a 50:50 weight distribution.

Not at Production Level Yet

The details of the Supra, or whatever it might be called in the future, are not fully available yet. The vice president of the Toyota Group announced that the specs are still being finalized, which is why the model will not likely be at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in early 2018.

Keep up with the latest news on the brand new sporty model from Toyota and get excited for the new Supra to debut in 2019.
