Dothan is located in the southeastern corner of Alabama. With about one quarter of all the nation’s peanuts being produced in this area, the city has been labeled “The Peanut Capital of the World.” However, there’s a lot more to Dothan than peanuts. Besides parks, museums, and historic sites, it also offers many interesting events throughout the year. If you’re planning to visit in March 2018, make a point to check out these events.

JonJam

The 10th annual JonJam music festival will be held on March 3rd at The Plant in downtown Dothan. This is an opportunity for you to watch local bands like Pontiac Stove Company, Lowdown Souls, and Spoonful James in action. You can also take part in the bike fest and watch the Chili Cook-Off. If you’re bringing your kids, there are lots of activities for them to enjoy, too.

Newsboys United

Highly-successful Australian Christian rock band Newsboys will be playing at the Dothan Civic Center on March 24th as part of their United Tour. Catch lead singer Michael Tait and the rest of the band as they play their greatest hits and showcase some of their new material as well.

Alabama Antique Trail Sale

The Alabama Antique Trail Sale is held in March and September every year. More than 125 shops from across Alabama will take part in this sale, offering an extensive variety of antique items at very attractive prices.

While you’re attending these Dothan events, make sure you spend some time exploring the city as well. And don’t forget to try the peanuts!
