The running was close, but the 2022 Toyota Highlander comes out of this race unscathed. Both SUVs offer drivers their own branded all-wheel drive and safety systems, but that’s really where the comparison stops. The Toyota Highlander L offers Sport, Eco, Normal and Snow mode, even when equipped with front-wheel drive. The Honda Pilot Sport, however, only has Snow mode — two additional drive modes are available on higher (and more expensive) trims. Need your SUV to have a standard capability that rivals some pickups? Don’t go with the Honda Pilot.
