3 Things to Do at Landmark Park

Landmark Park is a popular attraction in Dothan, Alabama that offers a variety of recreational activities and fun things to do and see. Old-Time Shops Landmark Park hosts a number of events designed to help visitors feel like they've taken a step back in time. Even if you can't make it to one of these events, you can travel to the past by shopping at one of their old-time stores located around the park. Shelley General Store has old-fashioned games and wooden toys available for sale, along with refreshing beverages and old-time treats. At Martin Drugstore, you can order ice cream, a malt, or a shake from the operational soda fountain or shop for old tonics and health remedies. Digitarium Planetarium At Digitarium Planetarium, learn more about the solar system through educational programs and exhibits. It's best for children ages 6 and older, although the planetarium does show movies in the dome that are fun for younger kids. Exhibits include information about astronomy over the past 3,000 years, the earth, moon, and sun, and one of the first telescopes. State Agricultural Museum The official state agricultural museum is within the park as well, helping visitors learn more about the history of agricultural importance in the area, as well as how it impacts Dothan and the state of Alabama today. The park also serves as the headquarters for the Alabama Agricultural Museum Board. Make a plan to spend an afternoon with your loved ones at Landmark Park, which has something for everyone to enjoy. Planning ahead to your fall events? Don't miss out on some of the great activities taking place at Landmark Park. Here are a few to put on your calendar. Fall Farm Day Get excited about nature and being outside! Take your children to explore the area on Fall Farm Day. They can see firsthand the way peanuts were harvested a century ago, or witness authentic cane grinding. Perhaps they would like to know how soap, butter, and syrup were once made. There is much to learn and explore! Kids aged three to twelve cost $4 at the door for entry, and adults cost $8. Landmark Park Benefit Car Show If you love looking at old and new sets of wheels, then don't miss out on the Landmark Park Benefit Car Show. This event features special, antique cars you probably have never witnessed before. Check out the "T" models, or the much-loved sporty classics, scheduled for viewing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on October 5. For entry into the show, kids are $3 and adults are $5. Low Country Boil and Auction For a great day filled with excitement, don't miss out on the Low Country Boil and Auction. Enjoy fun music and tasty food. There's a silent auction and wagon rides. Kids cost $5 and adults are $50, or it is $500 for a table of eight. Join the fun on September 19 from 6 to 9 p.m. Get ready for a day of fun and excitement at Landmark Park.
