While new models are usually released throughout the year, the end of the year is when most brands release their new models. Dealerships receive a flood of these new models when they start coming out but still have the vehicles from last year in stock. This motivates dealers to start dropping specials on the older models. How does this benefit the customer? It makes the end of the year an ideal time to buy. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean you should go for end-of-year models, so which one is right for you? 2020 Models Are Priced to Move

Shopping during the last few months of the year means you’ll get to participate in limited-time savings, such as 0% APR financing, $0-down lease offers or cash back options. The dealer’s objective is to clear their lot for their shiny, new 2021 models, so it’s a perfect opportunity to find a brand-new car for less.
How Long Do You Plan on Owning the Car?
It’s an important question. If you plan on buying or leasing for only a limited period of time, picking the newer model is the better choice. A 2021 car, truck or SUV will have better short-term trade-in value since it’s a newer year, but if you’ll drive your model for longer, it’s best to go with the 2020 model instead.
When Only the Latest and Greatest Will Do
